Eat better not Curafennecessarily less. Although portion control is a great idea. Have you ever really cleared your mind and thought about what you are eating? Exactly what it is you should be eating? Many of us think that we should eat what we want when we want as long as it's not too much. Food is nutrition for our bodies and one body is all we were given.So many Americans are obsessed with their appearance and how they are perceived by others, yet we don't change our eating habits. I've heard this all my life, "It's not how much you eat, but what you eat." It's so true. More Americans are aware of what they eat and how it could affect their health. The United States is one of the most health conscious nations there is yet millions of us are overweight.

Why?Because we don't eat the right foods! My Mother never ate the right foods as I was growing up. I just ate what she did and didn't give a damn about the healthy foods. Now, as I get older, I'm finally learning. I'm not overweight at this time in my life but I have been diagnosed with high cholesterol in the past, because I have not been eating the right foods. Just because a person is a healthy weight does not mean the body is healthy. Most Americans are aware of the nutritional guidelines and the benefits of healthy eating, yet they do not follow those guidelines.Our lives are so hectic and busy now days that I would wager most of us eat out 25% of the time. Where does that food come from? How much fat is in it? How is it cooked? What kind of oils are used in the process? How much money could I be saving? Do you ever ask yourself these questions as you order at the drive up window? No!

Most don't realize that if they have a half hour they can make a simple home cooked meal with less calories, carbohydrates and fat. You can even create what you would order from your favorite fast food place or restaurant containing a much better nutritional value.Eating better is much easier now days than it used to be. There are thousands upon thousands of recipe books and recipes on the internet. Do a search for meals done in 30 minutes or less and see what you find... I just did and there was 172,000,000 results. It only took me 30 seconds to type it in the search bar.If you are constantly skipping out on eating the veggies and fruit required for your body to maintain healthy levels of vitamins and minerals, you are only cheating yourself, but if you are doing it regularly with family meals, you are cheating your family.
